Bovine lactoferrin may prevent colds
We explored whether a combination of bovine lactoferrin and whey protein could effectively lower the frequency of colds and enhance recovery. In a well-controlled clinical trial, 126 participants reported often getting colds. They were divided into groups receiving either the supplement or a placebo for 90 days.

The results were promising: those taking the lactoferrin combination had significantly fewer colds and fewer cold-related symptoms compared to the placebo group. Although some benefits on severity and sick days didn't reach statistical significance, the overall findings suggest that this combination may be a helpful preventive measure for common colds.

Lactoferrin shows promise for colds
We investigated the impact of a throat spray containing lactoferrin on common cold symptoms in a double-blind, randomized controlled trial with 157 participants. Participants used various treatments over two days, and we analyzed their sore throat pain and cold-related symptoms.

Our results showed a significant reduction in symptoms. Pain intensity decreased by 68-75%, and overall cold symptom severity dropped by up to 69%. These findings suggest that supporting respiratory health and reducing inflammation may effectively relieve common cold symptoms.

Lactoferrin effects on cold symptoms
We conducted a study to see if sucking tablets containing lactoferrin and lactoperoxidase could help relieve common cold symptoms. We had 407 participants divided into treatment and non-treatment groups, with some practicing health precautions like gargling and mask-wearing.

Sadly, the results showed that the tablets did not significantly reduce cold symptoms overall. However, in those who didn’t gargle or wear masks, the tablets showed moderate effectiveness, particularly in reducing fever duration over 38°C.

So, while lactoferrin may have some benefits in specific circumstances, its overall impact on cold symptoms remains limited.

Just a week after starting lactoferrin, I felt better. I stood in frosty conditions and didn't get sick! Moreover, my iron absorption seems improved. I think it's worth repurchasing for the cold season.

Effective recovery
Useful product! Iordered it to recover from common colds and flu. A friend used it for a popular illness and found it helpful. The remnants of her runny nose and cough disappeared. I recommend a dosage of one capsule per day.

Concerning immunity, I'm unsure about my iron levels. However, after reading reviews, I ordered lactoferrin as a precaution. I can't confirm its effect on iron, but it definitely boosts immunity. On several occasions, when I felt a cold starting, the symptoms ceased before they developed.

I sought to boost my immunity with lactoferrin, hoping to prevent colds. By incorporating it alongside R1 yogurt, I’ve fortunately dodged both colds and severe hay fever, which used to trouble me greatly.

No help with common cold. I took it as suggested after reading about lactoferrin in nasal tissues. The doctor recommended it with zinc at the first signs of a common cold, but the drug did not work for me. It was pricey and I noticed no improvement.

Improved immunity

I really like Lactoferrin from Jarrow Formulas. It has positively surprised me with its effects. I began taking it to support my immune system, particularly during the cold season. After a couple of months, I found that I had become more resilient to illnesses. Colds and viruses seemed to bypass me, and even when I felt the initial symptoms, the illness was milder and passed more swiftly. Additionally, my skin's condition has improved, especially with a noticeable decrease in inflammation. Lactoferrin also aids in maintaining intestinal health, which is a nice bonus. Its convenient dosage and sublimated form make it easy to take. Once again, Jarrow Formulas delivered high quality. I recommend it to anyone looking to bolster their immune system and enhance overall well-being!

This form of lactoferrin is fantastic for strengthening my immune system. I’ve found that it significantly helps me recover quickly with fewer symptoms when I take it at the first signs of a common cold. The capsules are of great quality and flavourless, making them easy to take. I always keep some on hand.
